THE AREA
|
 The Beara Peninsula offers a rugged coastline, islands and
rocks both big and small that accommodate lighthouses, look
out towers and many other features. Sea trips around Bere
Island, Fastnet Rock, Bull Rock and through the Dursey Sound
and Calf Sound offer great scenery. A trip around the harbour
boasts the viewing of a castle, towers, lighthouses, old army
shelters and wrecks. Some of the rocks mentioned above are
home to seals and birds both common and rare. |
